Who is the Manager?

Kelly Manger is the Manager of LearningLand, Millbrook.

Kelly has an N.N.E.B and Early Years Professional Status, and has been with LearningLand since June 1998. Kelly has vast childcare experience and is highly trained in working with children of all ages.

Kelly understands that making a decision about childcare is one of the most difficult and yet important decisions you as a parent/carer will ever have to make and therefore aims to make this decision as easy as possible for you by providing complete peace of mind.

Who will be looking after my child?

We have a highly qualified team of full and part time staff who are also trained in paediatric first aid. Their aim is to ensure that your child enjoys every day with us and arrives home full of stories to tell.

They have a love of children, are enthusiastic about working with them, and have a never ending store of creative energy.

Their sole purpose is to ensure your child will develop in all areas of their life.

Do I need to provide meals?

No. We have catering staff who freshly prepare healthy and well-balanced meals for your child from weaning stage onwards, and this includes a cooked lunch.

We are able to cater for your child's individual dietary requirements for medical reasons or religious beliefs. Your child's key worker will discuss dietary reqirements with you.

What do I need to bring with me?

We will provide everything your child needs while they are in our care. This includes all meals, healthy snacks, milk, formula milk, nappies and lots more.

You will not be asked to pay extra hidden charges for what we believe should be the highest standard of care you can expect for your child.

All we ask is that you provide is a change of clothing and a toothbrush.

Are you Registered to receive workplace vouchers?

Yes, we are. All we require is the name of your chosen company.

Are you registered to take Government Funding for children aged 2 years and 3 - 4 years?

Yes. We are inspected by Ofsted and therefore qualify and accept Government funding.

Please note: We offer this in part payment of fees or for just the 15 hours per week, term time only.

Please ask for further details regarding this scheme.

What information do I need to provide?

Before your child starts with us we will ask you to complete forms which will contain information such as who will be collecting your child, emergency contacts, a detailed health record, and a welcome form which will give us information on your child's individual needs and routine.

Will my child have opportunity to settle before they start?

Yes, we want to get to know both you and your child. Therefore, your child's key worker will arrange some settling in sessions which are suitable for you and will ensure your child feels at home with us.

What will my child be doing throughout the day?

The staff will plan and prepare a variety of activities that are age and stage appropriate that enable your child to grow and develop at their own natural pace.

Each Key worker, working with the children aged 3 months to 5 years, will plan for their individual key children according to their needs and skills. The staff will encourage the children to be involved in activities and learn through play and social interaction to learn to care for others.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the statutory framework that we follow to ensure that the children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.

LearningLand has a wide variety of equipment and ensures your child has freedom of choice. The equipment provided is age and stage appropriate and the staff provide opportunities for your child to use natural resources in their play.

What about exercise and fresh air?

We have our own secure outside play area with toys and play items for investigation and exploration.

Our baby and toddler rooms have open access to their own outside area and all age groups use the garden area daily and your child will have access to fresh air all year round, therefore we ask you to provide appropriate clothing for the season. We are also able to use Green Park which is a large recreational area next to Learning Land.
